Spiritual Reset

This part of life is about humility, spiritual reset, energy cleanse, learning to go with the flow of life and letting go of attachment.

I have reached Dhaka! There is something about the chaos and rawness of life here that makes me feel alive and happy again. I can’t wait to capture photos of the culture, food, people and life here soon. The best part of it all is seeing my dad after two years, my heart is full – home is really where the love and people are rather than a place.

As the year is coming to an end, reflecting back I want to focus on living each day with intention, gratitude and simplicity. I have been reading about the spiritual experience that highlights moving away from our ego identity, embracing uncertainty and conscious awareness of the universe. More importantly, recognizing we are all in this human experience and suffering together. I find learning about Buddhism quite interesting, where the first step is to become aware of our thoughts, words and actions. I also love Islamic teachings of six main beliefs including belief in angels, declaration of faith, charity and praying. I feel all religions pray or meditate with the same purpose of peace and enlightenment but in different ways. I also like the concept of humanism which focuses on achieving personal growth and solving problems through reason although it’s nice to have faith in something beyond us.

The real questions I have been pondering about: What do I value in life? What should I keep or remove? What kind of person do I want to be? What kind of life do I want to live? What should I change? Here are a few thoughts right now

Loved ones Spending quality time with family and friends who I care about

Acceptance of others and life as it is – everything is not in our control

Meditation & Yoga to slow down, live in the moment, calm and centre the mind

Work & Learning consistent effort and energy on meaningful projects and career

Love & enjoy life, people and moments – not take it too seriously. Remove expectations and experience everything. As they say life is about the journey not the destination

Declutter things, space, apps and keep what has a purpose

These are the little things that are important to me right now. What are yours? Let me know how it goes! I am going to try to do a little digital detox.

Happy Holidays! xx

Love Sonia
