For some a New Year is meant to mark a fresh start, set new goals, to leave the past behind and a chance to build a new chapter. I’d like to believe every year is a blank slate to become whatever we want to be despite the tears and challenges. To start again with gratitude and humility. To start over and over again until we succeed.

Vision Board

What will my life look like one year from today? I ask myself that and then create a vision board with photos of my dreams and goals to help me focus on what I want to create. As they say the more we visualize what we want and focus on the feelings of our desires, the more we will attract it into our lives. Paulo Coelho says in The Alchemist, ‘When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.’

Lessons Learnt

Whether it’s achievements or setbacks, there is always something I can learn from it. Reflecting back on the mistakes, setbacks and the successes helps me understand how I can improve in the future. Things don’t always go as planned, there will be detours, roadblocks and hurdles along the way. Now I always expect there be obstacles and doubters but those challenges will help me become stronger in the long-run.

Possibilities

I like to start the day with morning intentions including 5 goals for the day and evening reflection including 5 things I am grateful for. It helps to reframe my thoughts and think about the possibilities for the day. I’d also like to spend 30minutes each week thinking about: Who I would like to be? What would make this year amazing? What are the possibilities this year? What habits would I like to build this year?

Moving Forward

I accept change is constant in life to help me be better prepared and navigate uncertainty. More importantly, to be patient, persistent and perserve when it comes to relationships or my career. I am excited for what the future holds as it will be better than the past.
