5 Ways To Destress

Happy April Guys!

How are you feeling? I feel more centered and calm this year as we adapt to the new normal. Taking care of my mind, body and soul is the best thing I have done over the past few months. Constant stress from work, relationships or uncertainty in life can take a toll on our health – affecting our mood, sleep and appetite. So time to ditch unhealthy habits and manage the mindset. Let’s restore, revive and rejuvenate!

Hike or Walk in Nature

Banana leaves are green nature.

I started walking outdoors to clear my head and have set a goal to try achieve 10,000 steps/10 km each walk. I underestimated how good you can feel after a run and some fresh air, even if its for 30 minutes. I started off with 5,000 steps/5km then gradually progressed from there. I have been using the Google Fit app to track my progress which monitors your heart points, steps, km, calories and sleep, it also shows your daily goals and weekly target +recap. I am going to try the Nike Run Club app next week as you can connect and compare your workouts with other runners in different cities around the world! I usually listen to a motivating podcast or my music playlist on Spotify.

Sound Healing

Let’s face it meditating can be a challenge, to sit still without any movements and block out thoughts . I tried Sound Healing instead and I love it! You can find more details on how it works, what can sound healing do and how we define the energetic body on the link. It really helps to shift the mind and body into a vibrational balance. I usually listen to my sound healing playlist on Spotify right before going to bed which puts me to sleep right away or when I have negative thoughts blocking my day.

Paint and Art

Getting creative with colors can be therapeutic and a good way to relax. It is such a powerful medicine, research has shown that it has stimulated memories in people with dementia and enabled them to reconnect with the world. I have tried DIY art canvases where you focus on empty spaces at a time. On the other hand there is abstract art which allows you to move freely and enjoy movements of brushstrokes.

Journaling

I really look forward to journaling my thoughts and feelings to destress. I found it helps to track my patterns and to change behaviors. I feel it’s a good way to raise self-awareness by allowing whatever you are feeling out of your head. Get it off your chest!

Drink Tea

I started having chamomile and lemon grass tea a natural relaxant to unwind before going to bed – after a warm shower. There are numerous health benefits such as improving sleep quality, relieving anxiety and improving heart health to name a few.

What are you doing to destress these days? I’d love to hear! Please share in the comment box below. Thanks for sharing your time here.

Lots of Love Son xx
